Time Trials
This day was held to get the public of Darwin revved up about the event.
20th of May 1994
This is a scan of the original "Special Pass". We can not remember what was so "Special" about the pass, but here it is. Hidden Valley Motor Sports Complex consisted of a Drag Strip, and a Speedway circuit. This day was of course held at the Drag Strip later in the afternoon.
The following was the first time we had seen all the cars together. Most people had seen the cars as they drove around Darwin. We remember it being a competition of mates, to see who had spotted the hottest car of the day.
Car 236: Jaguar XJS 6 Litre
It seems weird to us now, but at the time, it didn't seem a big deal. You will notice that people are walking across the return lane of the drag strip with out anyone from security, or the Darwin Motor Sports Complex supervising. No one was hurt, but it just looks weird when we look at the pics now. Safety was not of paramount concern on this day.
Not all the cars that entered in the race were here on this day.
